What is Pilates?
Pilates is a full-body conditioning program that builds strength, teaches body awareness and increases flexibility. Pilates also helps in injury prevention with a focus on our “powerhouse” or our core. Emphasizing breathing and concentration, Pilates improves alignment and addresses muscular imbalances.

Pilates benefits most everyone and can be adapted for every level of fitness and is also a great complement to the programs of multisport athletes, golfers, skiers, equestrians or runners.

›What we offer:

FreshAirSports Pilates offers private, semi-private sessions as well as small group equipment classes (limit of three). Unique to FreshAirSports Pilates, we also offer eight week "boot camps." Programs are developed with your specific health and fitness goals in mind. In class settings, we work to ensure a balanced environment with the same level of experience (beginner, intermediate or advanced students) in each class. See below for detailed description on each class type:

Private sessions:
One on one sessions with a Pilates instructor in a private setting. Each session is designed to meet your specific needs. We work with you individually to assess your fitness goals, even providing you with additional programs to do on your own at home. We will work with all of the Pilates equipment and props during each session ensuring a complete, full-body workout.

Semi-private (duets):
Perfect for partners, spouses or two friends. Semi-private sessions are a great way to share the cost while still maximizing a customized workout. As with private sessions, all Pilates equipment is used during each session.

Group classes (maximum, 3):
Small classes led by an experienced instructor who oversees your program. Continuous feedback throughout your class ensures proper alignment and form. Classes begin with a 15 minute mat warm-up and then we'll spend the rest of the session on the reformer as well as the Pilates "chair." Classes are designed to work the entire body. Each session will work the abdominals, legs, back, shoulders and arms as well as the glutes. Customized classes are also available. Three of you trying to get in shape for the ski or cycling season? We'll customize a plan to ensure you get there.

FreshAirSports boot camps:
Unique to our studio, a "boot camp" is an eight week class offered twice per week.  Sessions are 55 minutes and will be a combination of both mat and equipment work. The first 3 to 4 sessions will focus on fundamental exercises and some time will initially be spent explaining the equipment and how to use it.

Most studios require you to take private sessions in order to use equipment, so this is a unique opportunity. We will progress through intermediate level exercises and by the end of eight weeks, you will really feel the benefits and can decide if you want to continue in a small class environment. This is for students new to Pilates only!
