OK so it is back on the bike today after about 15 to 20 days off for swimming at worlds.

I decided to try out the Monday night Races at PIR ( I am in PDX for Military work)

I did the Cat 4/5 race with about 30 other riders. We did 12 laps with sprints on laps 10, 7 and 3 to go. I had nothing to lose so I went for them all. I got second in one of the middle sprints.
But here is the fun part. On the final sprint into the finish I was in perfect position holding 3rd wheel with 300 meters to go. The Guy next to me literally 3 to 4 inches from my handle bar shifted down, stood up and CRACK goes his front fork. His front wheel fell into mine and I managed to stay upright But I missed out on the final as I freaked out a little bit and lost momentum. Amazingly he was the only rider to down. (and he won two intermediate sprints which is why I was beside him hoping to hop on his wheel when he went.

I am back at it tomorrow with another PIR race. I am making preparations for the High Desert Omnium this weekend. Hope to see you all out there riding

Kevin
