New for 2008, we are adding two runs, a 10K Run on Saturday, July 19th and a 5K run on Sunday, July 20th. Note that the minimum age allowed to participate in the 10K run is 12 years old. Ages 10 and over may participate in the 5K run.
› Awards & Prizes
Every triathlon and duathlon finisher will receive a custom medal. In addition to your medal and your ultra cool (so cool we can't tell you yet!) commemorative giveaway, we will have unique awards given to the top three finishers in each age-group category in 5-year increments: under 19, 20-24, 25-29.....65+
Go big, race both the Olympic and sprint distance races (both tri and du)!
There will be incredibly cool and amazing prizes for the top overall female and top overall male
with the shortest combined time between the Olympic and the sprint distance triathlons or duathlons. This is not based on age, purely on the lowest combined times for both races.
The top three finishers in each age group of the 5K and 10K run participants will receive ribbons. Age group categories are in five year increments: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29....65-69, 70+
› Try a Tri Swim Wave sponsored by The Center
Both the sprint and Olympic distance triathlons will have a "try a tri" swim wave. This is a great opportunity for novice swimmers to participate in a triathlon without some of the fears that come with open water swimming. First time athletes will swim in the LAST swim wave of each race. You won't have to worry about faster swimmers swimming on top of you, take your time and enjoy the gentle, down-current swim. Make sure to select "yes" on the try a tri swim wave question on the registration form to be included in this swim wave (limited to 60 per race).
