What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system of exercises that builds strength, teaches body awareness and increases flexibility. Pilates also helps in injury prevention with a focus on our “powerhouse” or our core. In short, it’s a great complement to the programs of multisport athletes! Pilates has been in the news with top athletes singing its praises for years.
FreshAirSports Pilates Boot Camps!
FreshAirSports Pilates Boot Camp is an eight week class offered twice per week. Sessions are 55 minutes and will be a combination of both mat and equipment work. The first 3 to 4 sessions will focus on fundamental exercises and some time will initially be spent explaining the equipment and how to use it.
Most studios require you to take private sessions in order to use equipment, so this is a unique opportunity. We will progress through intermediate level exercises and by the end of eight weeks, you’ll really feel the benefits and can decide if you want to continue in a small class environment. This is for students new to Pilates only!
Timing of this is great for those coming off of a busy triathlon, cycling and/or running season and looking to regroup and get back to core conditioning for the fall and winter. It’s also a great way to add strength, power and balance to your existing workout routine.

Boot camp cost is $250 for eight weeks with sessions twice per week.

Pre-requisite to entering equipment classes are either a FreshAirSports Pilates boot camp, 3-5 private sessions or demonstrated Pilates experience.

Start an at-home core routine with a "FreshAirSports Focus Session" - $40
Looking to integrate a core workout into your training routine, but do not have the time to commit to classes? We will create an individual Pilates mat workout for you to do at home and go through it with you in a 30-minute session in the studio so you properly learn the exercises. For an extra fee, we will create a personalized Podcast for you to download to your iPod so you can follow along while you exercise. We also recommending purchasing a BASI (Body Arts and Sciences) DVD to complement your at-home mat workout.
