FULL FOR 2008!
I look at coaching as a way to partner with you to reach your goal. It may be to complete your first Olympic or half Ironman, place in the top 5-10 or maybe to have a significant PR at the distance you enjoy. We begin by looking at the reasons behind your goals, what your lifestyle entails, the time commitments you have, medical conditions, historical injuries, etc. to determine the big picture before breaking it down into smaller achievements that will take you on to your ultimate success. Why do I spend all this time planning and not just out training? Each of these elements in your life plays a role in how your body reacts to your training, where your limits are, how you are able to handle and recover from the stresses demanded by a structured training program. All this information allows me to make sure every training session has a purpose and is focused on making you successful. I don't believe in "junk miles" when we can be efficient and maximize your efforts so you can spend that extra time with your family, friends or other lifestyle choices.
My past is one of competitive cycling (CAT II) and running before getting into triathlons, including Ironman and qualifying for Team USA Long Course Worlds in France (2002/2003). Besides being a USAT certified coach, those long miles of training and the mishaps that have occurred, allow me to steer you around those obstacles and be a better coach/partner having been in your shoes (and continue to be). I always know I have done my job well when I hear one of my successful athletes tell me at the end of their race, "I so badly wanted to fall into the trap of (insert racing error here), but kept hearing your voice in my head telling me exactly what to do, and here I am - I did it!". Let me help guide you to be successful, knowing that you did the work and own the rewards.

- Weekly training plan emailed to you
